I got up this morning.
Made myself some bacon and eggs.
And then I went into the bathroom.
Had myself a shit and a shave.

And then I put on my long pants.
I did it one leg at a time.
And then I put on the rest of my clothes.
Each of them one at a time.

I opened the door and went out walking.
People were looking at me.
And I was looking right back at them.
Wond'rin' what there was to see.

And then I thought about some cool stuff.
And wondered why I did that.
Wondered if the things I thought about
Would ever trouble a cat.

Can't really help what I'm wond'rin' about.
Why does my hair itch under my hat?
Took my hat off and scratched the itch.
Then took the hat and put it back.

And then I thought about an old friend.
And the girl who got away.
Don't really care what happened to that old friend.
I hope that girl never gets laid.

And then I wondered about wandering.
And I wandered over there.
But there was nothing there so I wandered back.
I'm over here, in case you care.

What we think about is often
Why we're prone to self-obsess.
And then I thought about who I was.
And then I got lunch at the taco truck.

And then I went home and wrote this song.
It's a masterpiece, I'm sure of it.
And then I went back into the bathroom.
And had myself another shit.

And then something remarkable happened.
Something I can not put in words.
