It was a bloody bout,
Round to round.

He never saw what laid him low.
He never saw the final blow.

The ring of moneyed men,
Know how to rig the rules,
Know how to fix the fight
And cheat the world.

They face the working men
With motives mean and cruel,
With weapons meant to kill
And crush and rule.

Workers left to starve.
Lands all stripped of gold.
No one’s watching hard
To see what’s so.

Peace, down for the count,
Wounded from the blows,
Crippled by the boxers
Hitting low.

Justice must be won,
Defended ev’ry day.
When all’s said and done
It’s the only way.

Keep your eyes on guard.
Keep your fists held high.
Or the final blow
Will take your life.
